Crafternoon is a relaxed and friendly group with a wide age range of people who come along and enjoy being creative together on a monthly basis. You can craft for one of our current projects or bring your own. The session includes a short Bible based talk, as well as tea, coffee and something sweet. In addition to this, we run a larger evening craft event around Christmas time.
Unfortunately, Crafternoon is not running at the moment due to government restrictions so below are some patterns to keep you entertained during isolation, just keep everything you make for when we next meet. Our current projects are Blankets for the Homeless (St Albans & Hertfordshire Pod) and Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes.
Puppet, hats and glove patterns for shoeboxes. Toys stuffed with new stuffing are now being accepted: check the bag to see that the filling complies with fire and safety regulations.
Blanket squares can be any colour, knitted or crocheted, and using any wool as long as they measure 6x6in or 12x12in. You can find some pattern ideas here.
When is it? The first Wednesday of the month, 1:00pm - 3:00pm
Where is it? Church Hall (Grange Baptist Church)
What do I need to bring? If you’re taking part in one of our current projects then you don’t need to bring anything, we provide needles, crochet hooks, wool and patterns
Who can come? We’re open to everyone, even if you haven’t knitted or crocheted before there will be plenty of people to help you learn
