The Church Family

We're a church made up of a mix of people of different ages, stages and backgrounds. We'd love to welcome you to join us on a Sunday!

Paul Sutton - Pastor

Paul is our Pastor who started at GBC in August 2021. He was born in Leicester and spent the first 11 years of his life growing up in Market Bosworth, a small market town west of Leicester. Due to those formative years, he is an avid fan of Leicester City FC!

Paul's family moved to Hastings, where he came to faith in Jesus as a teenager and was baptised at 18. He met Laura at church in Hastings and they married shortly before the Lord called him into full-time pastoral ministry. Paul completed a BA in Applied Theology at Moorlands Bible College in Dorset, a part of the country close to their hearts.

Paul was Assistant Pastor at Shirley Baptist Church in Southampton before moving up to Letchworth to Pastor GBC. Paul enjoys playing guitar and drinking good coffee whenever possible! On a day off, Paul and Laura can typically be found relaxing over nice food and countryside walks.

She has an MA in Newspaper Journalism and has also worked as a Journalist in Central London.

Born and bred in Hastings, Laura first heard the good news about Jesus whilst studying at university in Stirling, Scotland. She gave her life to the Lord on her 20th birthday after an evening service at church in Hastings and was baptised shortly afterwards. Laura is passionate about sharing the good news of Jesus with children, young people and families and she has a real heart to see them discipled well and equipped to live for Christ. She also enjoys baking, dancing, spending time with people and reading a good book!

What, Where and When

We meet every Sunday at 10.30am to worship God, speak to Him in prayer and hear from His Word together. Expect a warm welcome from our Welcome Team who will answer any questions you may have and help you find a seat. Our Sunday Services typically last 90 minutes and include a mix of modern and traditional songs led by a small contemporary worship group, times of prayer, the Bible reading and the main event: the Bible talk (sermon). For more information on what to expect on a Sunday, check out our dedicated Sundays page here. We meet at the church building and you can find full details of our address here. You are most welcome to join us and we hope to see you on a Sunday morning soon!

What about my children?

At GBC, we believe that as church family, it is good to meet together to worship the Lord as one body and for all ages to be welcomed and transformed by the preached Word of God (Romans 10:17). For this reason, our services are all-in and include Bible Bites, action songs and fun and accessible sermon packs to help each age and stage engage with and be nurtured by the main Bible teaching. For more information on how this works in practice, check out our dedicated Sundays for Families page here.
